Soil Requirements

Rubus idaeus ‘Glen Ample’ is a versatile plant and can cope with wet or drier soils, but prefers there to be decent drainage. This plant is not tolerant of alkaline soil, it requires either a neutral or acidic soil to grow.

Best Position

Rubus idaeus ‘Glen Ample’ prefers a sheltered position and requires full sun to thrive, this consists of more than six hours of direct sunshine per day.

Maintenance

Rubus idaeus ‘Glen Ample’ should have all fruited canes removed down to ground level in Autumn. Then select up to eight young canes around 10cm apart and tie them in to some supports. These young canes will then fruit the following year.
