This cultivar is known for its deep red, tubular-shaped flowers that bloom in late summer to early fall. The plant has large, glossy, purple leaves and can grow up to 1m tall. It prefers moist, rich soil and full sun to partial shade. It’s often used as an ornamental plant in gardens, also it is a popular choice for planting in wetland gardens, rain gardens, and naturalized areas.
