Description

Parahebe catarractae ‘Avalanche’ is a cultivar of Parahebe plant, which is a perennial flowering plant native to New Zealand. It is a low-growing evergreen shrub that typically grows to 20-30 cm tall and 45-60 cm wide. It has a compact, spreading habit and produces clusters of white flowers with a blue-purple eye in late spring to early summer. The foliage is dark green and glossy. It prefers well-drained soils, and full sun to partial shade. It is hardy to around -5°C. It’s drought tolerant once established and can be used as a ground cover, in rock gardens, in mixed borders, or as a specimen plant. It is suitable for UK climates, but it may require protection from the cold during winter.
